The recycling changes that are occurring at the County of Hawaii Transfer Stations have nothing to do with our private recycling company. We are still paying for HI5 plastic beverage containers. If you have questions regarding the changes to the 2-bin system provided by the County of Hawaii, please call Solid Waste Division Chief Gregory Goodale at 961-8270
After many months of absorbing the crumbling effects of the paper market, we are unable to continue our corrugated cardboard recycling program. We hope this is temporary and look forward to a recovering paper market in the near future. Until then, please recycle your cardboard in the County of Hawaii's two-bin rolloffs located at transfer stations around the island. We apologize for the inconvenience and please know that Atlas Recycling Centers, LLC strives to provide the best service we can to our island's community.
Michael J. Allen opened the very first Atlas Recycling Center in Kailua-Kona in 1984. With the help of our valued customers in nearly every community on the Big Island, we've been able to expand to 12 locations island-wide. We pride ourselves on our quick, quality, and friendly service and look forward to serving Hawaii Island for years to come.
